Privacy notice (beta)

Ownpholio is in beta. This notice explains in plain language what we collect, where it is kept and who it is shared with.

Ownpholio is operated by Roaring Coast Inc., British Columbia, Canada.

What we collect

Your account email address. Your password is stored only in scrambled form by our sign-in provider.
Photos of your belongings and the details recorded about them: names, brands, models, specifications, serial numbers, purchase dates and prices, notes, receipts and estimated values.
Your property address, if you choose to add it.
A record of how often you use the AI features, so we can apply daily limits and control costs.

Where it is stored

Your account, photos, item details and reports are stored in Canada, with Supabase (Canada Central region, ca-central-1).
Your information is private to your account and to anyone you share a property with. Photos and reports are shown only through links that stop working within minutes.
The app runs on Vercel, so your requests pass through Vercel's servers on their way to and from the database.

AI and price searches

To identify items and estimate their value, your photos and item details are sent to Anthropic, an AI company in the United States.
Item names, brands and models are used in web searches to find current Canadian prices. These searches do not include your name, email address or property address.
Under Anthropic's commercial terms, information sent through its API is not used to train its AI models.

Account emails

Account emails, such as sign-up confirmations and password resets, are sent through Resend, an email company in the United States. Resend receives your email address for this purpose only.

Location and camera data in photos

Before a photo leaves your phone, the app makes a fresh copy that holds only the picture. GPS location and camera details are removed, and our server checks this before saving it.

Cookies

We use only the cookies needed to keep you signed in. We do not use advertising or tracking cookies.

Your choices

You can download a copy of your information at any time using the PDF and CSV export, correct it in the app, or email us at rob@robtcase.com to ask for anything else we hold about you.

This is a beta

Features may change, and things may not always work as expected.
Values are estimates of replacement cost before tax, not appraisals. Your insurer may value items differently.
You can ask us to delete your account and all of your information at any time by emailing rob@robtcase.com. Deleted information is removed right away, and copies in our database backups are removed within 7 days.

What we do not do

We do not sell your information.
We do not share your information with insurers, or anyone else, without your permission. You decide when to create a report and who to send it to.
The only companies that handle your information are the service providers named above, and only to run the app.
